LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR – DESPATCH
 
Due to the continued success and growth of the business, we are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Logistics Supervisor to manage the Packing and Goods Despatching operations.   This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading manufacturing company as a Logistics Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the Logistics – Despatch functions and will support with the managing and leading of the team to effectively deliver an operationally excellent Despatch Department. 

Primary responsibilties:

  • Responsible for ensuring all goods are packed and shipped in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that all goods that leave the site are to the required standard of the customer and are packed correctly to customer specification.
  • To ensure that all personnel perform their duties in a timely and efficient manner and systems, policies and procedures are adhered to. To report any issues and recommendations to the Production Manager.
  • To ensure that standards are achieved and that employees are fully trained, monitored and equipped to achieve an agreed standard. 
  • Share the knowledge of departmental activities to assist with the cross training of staff and maintaining schedule adherence. 
  • Working within the Logistics team.
  • Supervising the implementation of interdepartmental material movements and associated business system transactions.  
  • Liaising with all other Production Department Supervisors. 
  • Ensure that all equipment and consumables required for the functions of the Department are in place and requirements communicated with Purchasing and Facilities. 
  • Motivating Logistics operatives to ensure that a high-quality service is sustained. 
  • To have a working knowledge of all aspects of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S activities. 

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Previous experience in warehouse management or a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and materials handling.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate forklifts safely.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team management.
  • A full driving licence would be preferred.

•  37.50 Hours per week, Mon-Thurs 8.00 – 4.45 pm, Friday 8.00 - 12.30 pm (Early finish on a Friday).
