Verder Scientific Inc. is the local branch of Verder Scientific, a leading high-tech company in the field of sample preparation and analysis. We are a dedicated and motivated team of 43 people, located in Newtown, PA and represent the six brands of our group in the domestic market, providing laboratories with innovative, precise and efficient solutions: Retsch is our specialist in laboratory mills and sieving equipment. Microtrac develops leading solutions for particle characterization. Carbolite supplies high-performance laboratory ovens. Eltra enables precise elemental analysis. QATM takes care of metallographic sample preparation and hardness testing and ERWEKA is our producer of pharmaceutical testing devices.. Verder Scientific operates 13 production sites and eleven sales companies worldwide and are part of the German-Dutch technology group Verder, a group of companies with over 2000 employees around the globe.

Doing what is fun

All Personnel related functions, such as
  • Link to Corporate Personnel Department
  • Payroll (submission of bi-monthly data)
  • Insurances, Workers Comp, Liability, Health – reviews, annual renewals and audits 
  • Maintenance and update of Company Handbook
  • Vacation/ PTO tracking and synchronization
  • Creation of job descriptions (together with respective supervisors) for new positions and maintaining updated versions
  • Interviews/ recruiting – refining job needs and reviewing candidate resumes for submission to Managers for consideration
  • Hiring/Termination process/ paperwork on/off boarding employees
  • Rexx maintenance/ job postings
  • Promotion of Corporate attitudes & employee happiness/ satisfaction (surveys, posters and other items requested by Corporate) to be executed in local organizations
  • Proper tracking/ recording/ notification of employee issues/ warnings/ Performance Improvement Plans (as required)
  • Employee record keeping/ filing
  • Organization chart maintenance
  • Submission of completed documents to proper parties for various enrollments as well as any changes in payroll or insurance selections
  • Employee review, salary, bonus discussions and document maintenance

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in same or similar environment and field of activity
  • Solid knowledge in HR related matters
  • Solid knowledge of MS-Office systems
  • Communicative, team oriented, structured, analytical thinking, stress resistance, flexibility and self-motivation
